The Innate Witch: We’ve Always Been Here 🔥

Being a witch right now, is... complex. We are in a time of unprecedented knowledge, connection and technology. This comes with good and bad parts, which is where us witches come in. In the in-betweens. I knew I was a witch from a very young age. I, like many little girls I have encountered (young and old), started making magic and potions as soon as I could think to. From soaps and shampoos, much to our mothers dismay. From mud and twigs. To love letters and glitter glue.
A witch isn't made, or found. She is innate. She is natural. She is your best friend. She is the willow tree you walk past every day. We all have magic inside of us, and magic is all around us. You may call it God's love, quantum physics, philosophy, a cult, religion, whatever you call it, it's there. It's the things we can't see, but feel. The things we don't know, but somehow do. It's the stuff that makes up the in-between of everything else.
How do you know a room makes you uncomfy, even though you just stepped in to it? You might not. But your body does, your energy does. And it tells you by making your hairs stand up, making you anxious, telling you someone is watching you, that something's wrong.

We all have an innate sense of magic, a taste for it. Whether we admit it or not. Just like everyone is creative, everyone is magical. Most people just don't think of these particular things like the muscles, or elevated skills they truly are and can be. Witches know, though. They work to strengthen these muscles. Hone them like knives. They don't just see a blossoming flower. They see a year long cycle that a plant had to go through to look as beautiful as it does for this week long period. Then it will wilt, and you will call it an eyesore. Yet the flower persists. It goes on with its cycle, paying you no mind.
The witch is a flower. She tends to herself. Makes her soil rich, waters herself as much as she needs. She reaches for the sun and allows herself to bathe in it.
Witches come in as many varietals as flowers. Some have colors that are bright and vibrant to attract the bees for pollination. Some grow in the shade and prefer the coolness to heat. Some do better with as little watering as possible. Some thrive when you forget about them for a bit, then sing them a song.
Witches are as natural and as ever present as flowers. We have always been here. We have always adapted to our surroundings. We blossom and bloom, grow and die, no matter the world we are in. We breathe through our roots and celebrate our connection with the earth.

This has become harder, in this modern age. Lots of things fight for our attention, energy, and magic. Screens, connections, events, society. It's all a stimulus that can muddy the magic waters of a witches energy field. It's become easier to disconnect from our roots. The things that anchor us to this plane, our bodies, our seasons... We used to look up at the moon, now we stare down at our phones
This isn't our faults, but it is our chance.
To reclaim our magic, and redirect it to where we chose.
For centuries before now, witches have been at the center of communities. We have been the healers, the mothers, the caretakers, the listeners, the storytellers. People have come to us with their grief, sorrows, problems and needs, and we have supported them how we can. With herbs, song, prayer, art, guidance, healing, knowledge, love, and light. We love and support our communities, and so they trust and love us back. They turn to us for the hardest parts of life. The world turned away when the power of the feminine was poisoned against us. The word witch was used as an accusation, or sinners mark. The women who nurtured and grew them were used as the escape routes they never really needed. Leaving us all behind for the scavengers & fires.
Soon, again, they will turn to us. The lost, the confused, the unawake, the unloved. They will reach out in the ways they know how, and we must ebb and flow to meet them where they are.
We get to reclaim our communities, help our peoples in the ways they don't even know they need. We get to come out of the shadows, and speak our truths, spin our magic, and help others do the same.
A witch can be found anywhere. Is there a witch in you?

A couple things that hint at your witchy wisdom~
+ Your intuition is insane: You're the friend who always calls right when someone thinks about you, you know when a person is no good, and your instincts are immaculate
+ You seem/feel lucky: Things often work out well for you or in your favor, without you even trying. You lucky witch 😜
+ Animals love you: Animals always know. Children probably like your vibes too, but you ARE the Disney Princess.
